We’re going on a Treasure Hunt: A Birthplace
We’re going on a treasure hunt and we discovered…..A BIRTH PLACE! The “story of our life”, chapter 1, begins in a place, our birthplace. Montebello, Quebec, Canada is the birthplace supporting a crossing into beginning french research for French Canadian 4th great Marcott grandparents. Their leader, Louis-Joseph Papineau, was a friend to the French Canadians leading the fight towards democratic rights for them. He valued trees! In his journal he shared, “How wonderful it is to have trees more than a century old close to the house….” Others now treasure those trees as witnessed in the supporting structures working to prolong centuries of life. Joseph Smith is a friend to our family tree. At his birthplace in Sharon, Vermont we compiled a list of words describing the support he has offered in treasuring and restoring knowledge of Jesus Christ. Martyred, volunteered, surrendered, organized, administered, dedicated, performed, moved, imprisoned, sent, received, tarred, feathered, arrived, translated, obtained, married, prayed, asked. This strengthened 3rd great grandfather William Atkinson, born in Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada. We find him there, accepting the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and preparing to move his family to Salt Lake City. Have your children and grandchildren visited the place you were born?
