We’re going on a Treasure Hunt: A Community
We’re going on a Treasure Hunt …..and we discovered a COMMUNITY caring about our ancestors in the 1800’s, and still caring about them today! Green Bay, Wisconsin is called the Windy City. What blew our French Canadian ancestors here? At church we made friends, genealogists, who jumped right into the hunt with us. Heritage Hill State Park taught us the treasured beginnings of this community. The fur traders planted the seeds of economy, an established mission the seeds of religion, a fort the seeds of protection and a newspaper, the seeds of education. Here, the mosquito community is the strongest I’ve ever encountered. They are giants and defy all barriers. They bite right through your clothes! What communities nurtured your ancestors? What do you want your posterity to know about your community?
